Raazi (2018) Story:
This story happens during the India-Pakistan war in 1971. Sehmat Khan (Alia Bhatt) is a Kashmiri girl and works as a detective. She gets married to the Pakistani army officer Iqbal Syed (Vicky Kaushal) and goes to Pakistan. In Pakistan, she works as a detective for India. She always says herself that no other thing is more important than her country. Will she become successful in her mission? To know it, you have to watch ‘Raazi!’
Meghna Gulzar’s movies are always based on true events. Now she has brought a different and the real story from the movie Raazi to the audience. It tells the story of a bold Indian detective woman who does not care about anything else in front of her country and her duty. The story of the whole film is about Sehmat’s braveness and sacrifice for India. Meghna has shown that how the detective sacrifices his/her emotions and private life for his/her mission.
You should praise Mehgna for that she has tried to keep this detective drama as real. She has not glamorized Sehmat as a detective. She has created a thrill in the movie in a great way. Also, she has connected the character of Sehmat to the audience easily, which was a different thing. She defines the character of Sehmat in such concrete ways that, the audience convinces that Sehmat can do anything for the country.
The movie’s story and presentation are so strong that you will involve in this movie. Such scenes have filmed brilliantly like as Sehmat’s combat training, her information gathering scenes, emotional scenes, etc.
The script has shown several turns and twists. The movie has a fast pace that you cannot blink for a second.
Unlike other movies, things are unraveled in phases. The first half is gripping. You will surely find the answers to your questions while looking at the story in the second half.
Alia Bhatt is a good actress. In Raazi, she raises her level further. She has taken a difficult role as a challenge and acted in a superb manner. She has given her character as innocence and maturity as much as needed. Her performance in many scenes is fantastic. Also, she looks beautiful in the movie.
Vicky Kaushal is also good as a Pakistani Army Officer. He complements Alia’s performance in a nice manner.
The performance of all actors, including Jaideep Ahlawat, Rajat Kapoor, Shishir Sharma, Arif Zakaria, Soni Razdan, Amrita Khanvilkar, is perfect.
The editing helps the narrative. The songs have a Kashmiri touch and, they come in time in the movie, they do not feel disturbed. They feel the required impact over the whole movie.
Dialogues are with full of emotions and are inspiring.
The majority of the film is shot in Kashmir only. The scenes seen during the day seem more beautiful and attractive due to the natural light in Kashmir. The lighting in indoor scenes seems more effective.
The people of the house easily keep files of the confidential information on the table. Why do such high-ranking army officers not suspect their family’s daughter-in-law?
Is This Movie Worth to Watch?
Yes. Watch for Sehmat’s brave fight for India!
