Shiv (Sushant Singh Rajput) goes to Budapest for his job. In Budapest, he meets Saira (Kriti Sanon). Saira has some personal problems. They feel that there is a Raabta (connection) between them. They fall in love with each other. Meanwhile, Zakir (Jim Sarbh) enters into the Saira’s life. He wants Saira in his life. He kidnaps her and takes her to his private island. In the attempt to escape from there, Saira falls into the sea. She remembers her past life. Shiv, Saira, and Zakir have the connection from their past life.
You will get to see beautiful and eye-catching visuals of Budapest. The songs are amazing. The background music helps the narrative.
Talking about performances, Sushant Singh Rajput and Kriti Sanon are decent in their performances. Their onscreen chemistry is sizzling. The first half becomes watchable due to their hot chemistry only. Sushant is perfect as a tribal warrior.
Rajkumar Rao is superb in his small role.
Raabta is a first attempt of Dinesh Vijan as a director. Sad to say but, he has failed as a director. Why has he chosen this poor story for this movie? Also, it lacks a coherent script.
The first half has made as a funny, breezy, and light-hearted romance, which looks totally fake. You will get bored by watching Shiv-Saira romantic journey. The first half is not gripping.
If you feel that the second half will be interesting, you are wrong! In the second half, they have shown the past life story happening 800 years ago. This reincarnation drama is confusing. You will not get the idea that what’s going on the screen actually.
There are strange dialogues in the movie. It is difficult to understand the tribal language especially used by Sushant.
The reincarnation drama is inspired by Game Of Thrones. Also, the first half has more references from other Hindi movies like as Love Aaj Kal, Befikre, and DDLJ. They have used tried and tested formulas to show Shiv-Saira’s love story.
They could make this reincarnation drama interesting and believable. But it has ruined by a convoluted script as well as the illogical story.
Jim Sarabh is a miscast in the movie. He has done over acting. Rajkumar Rao should give the big and meaningful role in the movie. Varun Sharma is doing the same role in each movie. Raabta is not exceptional for him.
Is this movie worth a watch?
No. You can watch old yet super hit reincarnation movies like as Karan Arjun, Karz, Om Shanti Om and many more.
