Priyanka Chopra, Irrfan Khan, Nana Patekar, Shefali Shah, and Om Puri will dub for the Hindi Version of“The Jungle Book: Origins.” Disney India has signed them for the movie’s Hindi version.Priyanka Chopra who is busy in her Hollywood Projects-“Quantico”, and “Baywatch,” will give her voice for “Kaa”-the Python. Irrfan Khan who is also known as an International Icon has chosen for Baloo-the Bear. Om Puri will lend his voice for Bagheera-the Black Panther for whom the legendary actor Ben Kingsley has given his voice in the English version. Nana Patekar who had dubbed for “Shere Khan” in the TV Animated series “Jungle Book:The adventures of Mowgli.”(1990), will lend his voice to the same
character in this Hindi Version.
Also, Shefali Shah will give her voice for Raksha-the mother wolf of Mowgli.
Talking about this development, Amrita Pandey, Vice-President-Studios of Disney India, said, “The Jungle Book is so very special to India, and we want our audience to enjoy Disney’s all-new live-action adaptation. We wanted nothing but the best for the Hindi version of the film.
We are so excited to have such veterans and A-list actors come together to voice and bring alive these beloved characters making it like a high scale Hindi film.”
What’s more, there is a buzz that the “Slumdog Millionaire” (2008) fame Freida Pinto will play the prominent role in the English version of the movie. She will be seen as a Mowgli’s adoptive mother in the movie.
The movie is based on the novel “The Jungle Book” written by Rudyard Kipling. The Indian-American Child Artist Neel Sethi has portrayed the main character “Mowgli” in the movie. The Hindi version of the movie will release on 8th March in India. The movie will release in India a week before USA release.
