Story- The movie narrates the untold journey of an ordinary Ranchi boy to become the International Cricket star. It says about his struggle and achievements to fulfill his dreams.

Critic’s Conclusion- The movie is not an actual biopic, as it tells about important milestones came in Dhoni’s life only.  It tells the untold story about Dhoni’s cricket journey.  It would be a challenge for the director to make a movie on the living legend. But He hits a six out of the stadium brilliantly. He gives an inspirational movie for today’s young cricketers, who are struggling to be another Dhoni.

The director has made the interesting movie. He reveals unknown aspects of Dhoni’s life since his childhood.   The first half is engaging.  We amaze to see that Dhoni wanted to become the football player initially. This track has woven with small scenes. Though the second half is slow, it keeps you glued till the end.  There is not any dull moment in the entire movie.

The stronger and engaging script is the major asset of the movie.  The movie is a 3-hour long; however, the audience won’t bore for a second for sure.  It also shows Dhoni’s romantic as well as emotional side very beautifully.

The director has made a good decision by including the 2011 World Cup scene, at the start as well as the end of the movie.  This movie is a treat for Dhoni fans. They can live again those wonderful moments, which Dhoni gave in his career.  We can see his hard work to achieve his dream in this movie.  His journey has made in the most entertaining way.  There are some clap-worthy scenes in the movie.

The movie connects to even those people, who are not fans of Dhoni.  It is also good for those people, who have not much interest in any game.  It’s a motivational movie.

Despite having a good movie, it lacks some answers. It only portrays Dhoni’s good side as a human being. The movie could show such controversial aspects in Dhoni’s life like as His decision of eliminating three senior cricketers from the team, His equations with other fellow cricketers, IPL controversy etc.  It only glorifies about good moments in his life.

Talking about performances, Sushant Singh Rajput is a perfect choice for playing Dhoni’s character.  He has shown real Dhoni beautifully on the screen, whether it will be his body language or his playing style.  Sushant looks like a professional cricketer in the movie. It is one of the best performances of his career. Disha Patani,  Kiara Adwani,  Anupam Kher, Bhumika Chawla, Rajesh Sharma,Kumud Mishra,Herry Tangri are amazing in their characters.

The cinematography is decent.  The VFX team has done the superb job by reliving old moments of Dhoni’s life.  Songs are nice, but they seem unnecessary in such places in the movie. The editing is average. Dialogues are powerful.

Overall, it is an inspirational movie even for not-so-great-fans of Mahi as well as Cricket. Go, Watch it!
