After “Udta Punjab,” Once again Anurag Kashyap is fighting with the Censor Board for “Haramkhor.”
Once again the conflict has created between Anurag Kashyap and the Censor Board after “Udta Punjab.” This time, the ace filmmaker is fighting for his upcoming movie “HaramKhor” starred by Nawazuddin Siddiqui. The Censor board has denied giving the certificate to the movie because according to the board, the plot of the movie is offensive.
“Haramkhor” is a love story happening between the teacher and his girl student who is 14 years old. Nawazuddin is playing that teacher while Shweta Tripathi is playing his student. The Censor Board has refused to give the certificate to the movie by stating that,” There is the respective place for teachers in the society. But there will spread the wrong perception about teachers if filmmaker shows such relationship in their movie. In this movie, they are showing an illicit relation between the teenage girl student and her teacher. Also, they have shown offensive dialogues and gestures of children.”
“Haramkhor” had premiered at 15th Annual New York Indian Film Festival recently where Nawazuddin awarded with the Best Actor award. Even the movie had screened at Mami Festival last year.
Anurag Kashyap has confirmed this news. Now filmmakers are going to appeal against the board’s decision to “Film Certification Appellate Tribunal (FCAT).”
